Annotated Bibliography and Evaluative Summary
In order to find the existing research/evidence base to support/underpin a research or quality
improvement
activity that answers your research/clinical audit question, you are asked to select, read, analyse, and
annotate the six (6) most relevant research articles with at least ONE of EACH of the following in the
articles selected
? quantitative research
? qualitative research
? mixed methods research
? research using a theoretical/conceptual framework
Evaluative Summary
After you have completed the Annotated Bibliography, you are then asked to reflect upon the
literature and
complete a wellsynthesised evaluative summary of the literature you have annotated.
Please Note: You are not permitted to use articles that are literature reviews, scholarly articles,
editorials, letters, opinion pieces, or systematic or metaanalysis reviews.
