The research paper should be APA Format, 12-point Times New Roman Font, 10 pages of CONTENT minimum (ie. Abstract, Table of Contents, Bibliography, etc. do NOT count toward your 10 pages. Only body of paper). For this assignment, you will pretend you are the CEO or President in a new aviation company. You can pick any type of fictional company you want, as long as it is somehow related to aviation. In this paper, you will describe how you will manage your new company using the principles, terms, and concepts of this course. In other words, how you will Plan, Organize, Control, and Lead your new company. Again, this should not be an actual real-world company (although it can resemble one) but something you come up with and design. This will require you to research a particular field in aviation management in order to understand whatever type of company you choose.

Some examples of aviation management organizations (but definitely not limited to): Fixed Base Operator (FBO), maintenance repair station, airline, air taxi, corporate flight department, fractional jet companies (ie. NetJets), mission aviation, etc.

Some things to think about but definitely not limited to: 6 steps of Strategic Planning, your Mission/Vision/Goals, external competition and internal/external threats, resources available, costs, SWOT Analysis, Strategic Implementation Plan, Strategic Controls, type of organization, decision-making processes, how you will recruit/train/develop employees, labor union and pay considerations, leadership style, how you will motivate, what kinds of teams in your organization, strategy for control (what control systems you will utilize), your microenvironment/competitive environment/internal environment (culture), expected ethical problems and how your code of ethics will address these, emerging technologies your company will consider, how you will lead change and encourage innovation, etc.
