For this assignment, you will be given a business to perform an analysis. Your paper must be central to the topics of Operations Management and Lean Processes. By Week 3 of the course the instructor will provide the name of an organization to perform your research. The data in your study needs to be supported by acceptable academic references (Wikipedia, Motleyfool.com and Blogs are not acceptable references). Air Pollution

Here is some basic info on how the paper should be written. Basically it is a paper about air pollution in the United States and what is causing it and how we can reduce the amount of it. It also needs to include sources and evidence to back it up but written in the way of a podcast. It needs to be written in MLA format and could you also add a works cited page for any evidence found. Also a simple title would be nice too. – Project #3 in this course invites you to explore a topic of personal interest to you (air pollution). You will generate a “research question” to guide your investigation and discussion of the topic. Remember our discussion about academic writing being like “joining an existing conversation” that’s been going on for years? Your 3rd project in this course allows you to find a conversation that interests you, figure out what’s already been said about it, and write a paper in which you invite readers into the conversation with you. As mentioned in class, in some ways, it’s like a written version of the Radiolab podcasts you listened to. You won’t literally write an essay that’s in a Q&A style, but you might imagine yourself as a talk show host as you do the research and organize the ideas. You’re the host, your readers are your “audience.” What do you think we should know, or want to know?

how poverty is at the center for juvenile delinquency to come about.

required to apply appropriate theory and critical thinking as it relates your topic, as well as make suggestions for improvement (why is current system failing)what can we do to help? what can we do to change that, reduce recidivism, keep juveniles returning to the criminal justice system. 5-7 pages double space Times new roman font. use citation and have reference page.

Healthcare Management

Healthcare Management

Using your own research into motivational theories, critique the leadership development program available to managers at Western Health System provided above. How are the various motivational theories, models, and tactics used or demonstrated in this case study? Is motivation the same for all managers included in the Exploration program? Do you think that the program is perceived as equitable for all managers? Stephanie Anderson, director of human resources for Western Health System, realized the organization was neglecting local clinic managers who wanted to stay at their jobs. Excellent people became demotivated and headed for management jobs at the competition. Western Health System provided hygiene factors such as good salaries and benefits. However, what was lacking was a program to meet higher level needs for responsibility, achievement, and professional and personal growth. The answer was a program called “Exploration.” One aspect of the program included something called the “A-Club,” in which identified high-potential managers were invited to join. Members meet two or three times a year for a social event such as visiting a specific clinic or to participate in making important clinic-level decisions. High potential managers in the A-Club can also pitch personal development ideas to top leadership. A panel of top leaders makes the decision whether or not to fund individual development opportunities.

Explain what hate speech is, and what it is not

Explain what hate speech is, and what it is not

“In this paper I argue that Mill’s position on the scope of free speech is superior to those of Meiklejohn, Redish, and Emerson”). 2) The prompt requires you to argue for your preferred position on the scope of free speech. Before you argue for your preferred position, you must explain each of the four positions on the scope of free speech that we’ve covered in class (Mill, Meiklejohn, Redish, Emerson). In particular, this requires that you a. Explain how the law can limit speech b. Compare and contrast each position; for instance, what value(s) is the freedom of speech meant to serve, according to each author? 3) The prompt requires you to apply your preferred position on the scope of free speech to one of the cases we’ve covered related to hate speech. Before you apply your position to one of the cases we’ve discussed, you should briefly describe (1) the nature of hate speech and (2) some details of the case you will consider. In particular, this requires that you a. Explain what hate speech is, and what it is not (for instance, speech that merely makes someone angry is not hate speech). You are not required to discuss Waldron’s view on hate speech here, but if it helps you make the discussion clearer, then you are welcome to do so. b. Summarize the facts of the case you will consider c. Explain the court’s ruling in that case Just as before, there are not strict formatting requirements for the essay, nor is there a particular citation style required. Nevertheless, citations of some style are required (both intext, and a bibliography), and you must be consistent with whatever citation style you choose. A good rule of thumb for in-text citation is to provide the author’s last name and the page number of the relevant quotation.

The outline of Opuntia Ficus-Indica

The outline of Opuntia Ficus-Indica

The outline format: your outline must be formatted as described and exemplified in the example attached. Please note that this format will be assessed in your grade:

•Use an alphanumeric sequence
•Sections should be indented and aligned.
•Follow the suggested order of the required elements.
•Use brief but detailed and descriptive phrases. This will allow you to more easily flush these points out into complete sentences when it comes time to write the paper.

The required elements: Your outline should contain the following elements in this order:

I. The Introduction: this section must contain

A. The scientific name of your organism. Please see this link to help if needed: How to Write Latin Names of Species

B. The common name of your organism. What do most people know it as? Are there other names?

C. The area of residence in which you and your organism are (country/state/city).

D. The specific biome of where your organism lives. Please see here for more details on biomes.

II. The Body: this section should contain

A. Background: include a general physical description of your organism.

B. Life Cycle: describe the life cycle of your organism. The life cycle refers to the series of changes that happens from the beginning of life as your organism develops and grows into a mature organism. Please see here for some hints on the Life Cycle. Note that some organisms (like plants) have a more complex life cycle than an animal does. If you have any questions on this please ask!

C. Structure and Function: please select one organ system of your organism that you find to be particularly interesting and describe both the anatomy and physiology of that system.

a. If your organism is an animal, here are a list of the general animal organ systems

b. If your organism is a plant, here are a list of the general plant organ systems

c. If you have selected a bacteria or a fungus the concept can be more complex. Please contact me directly for more help if needed.

D. Evolution: Evolution is best understood as heritable change over time, or descent with modification. Please be sure to discuss the evolution of your organism using the following guidance:

a. Conduct a review of scientific literature to understand what is known about the evolution of your chosen organism. Search key words like evolution, fossil, ancestor. Also, refer back to your results from Assignment 1.

b. Conduct a review of scientific literature to understand the family tree or phylogeny of your organism. Phylogeny is defined as the history of organismal lineage as they change through time. Search key words like phylogeny, phylogenetic and genetic analysis.

c. Use the Tree of Life Project, which can be found here, to help you identify the lineage and related species. In addition, here is a list of other useful websites that focus on evolution:

Evolution: What is life’s History on Earth?

Biointeractive: Evolution

Evidence: How Do We Know What We Know?

Evolutionary Biology

NOVA Evolution

Species and Speciation

Understanding Evolution

Your Inner Fish

E. Additional Interests: The diversity of biological organisms is vast and interesting! Identify at least one unique fact or behavior not covered in the life cycle, structure/function or evolution and discuss it. For example, does your organism have an interesting parental care strategy or mating system? What about an adaptation or co-dependence with another species?

III. Conclusion section: this section should contain four to six bullet points that sum up the main points from the outline.

A. Start your conclusive section with one sentence summarizing some basic information about your chosen organism (name and geographical distribution).

B. Continue with a brief summary (1-2 sentences) about the life cycle and any particular body structures.

C. Include a brief note about its evolutionary path.

D. Include a brief summary (1-2 sentences) about the ecological role of your chosen organism in its ecosystem.

E. Wrap up the conclusive section with a closing note that provides brief information about a unique fact and/or behavior of your chosen organism.

IV. Reference section: this is not just a separate section; rather referencing should occur throughout the outline as it will in your paper. Please be sure to cite any language within the outline that should be cited. Proper citation and referencing were reviewed in Assignment 1; please look back at those resources and/or ask me if you have any additional questions. Your paper should also have a final reference page listing no less than five sources used throughout the outline.

Please make note of the following tips and tricks!

•We understand that this is a rough draft and as you research and writing continue over the next few weeks details may be added or changed. Although you do not have to resubmit it to me, I recommend that you update this outline to help you best complete Assignments 3 and 4.
• Write your outline so that it has detailed bullets that you can easily then flesh out into sentences for the body of your paper (Assignment 4).
•After your outline is complete, I recommend that you next draft your introductory and conclusion paragraphs. This will ensure that all the main points of the outline are incorporated in these two framing paragraphs.
