#1 Do not use general Internet sites ending in .com. Do not use encyclopedias, including Wikipedia. Do not use newspapers (even those available via EBSCOhost). Remember that much of the information available on the Internet can be wrong or misleading , so use only valid, dependable Internet sites for your research.
#2 Take very good notes from your sources, so that you can properly cite them in quotes and paraphrases in your paper. You need to include the author’s name, article name, journal info, etc. as well as the URL/DOI (for digital information) in the reference section of your paper. You need author’s last name, date, page for citation of quotes, name and date for citation of paraphrased material
#3 You must use citations within your document to acknowledge the sources of the information you use as you use it. If you do not use adequate citations within your document, you will probably fail for plagiarizing information.
#4 You need at least three peer-reviewed academic or professional sources, excluding the text book. You can use more, but not fewer. Every source you use must be included in your list of references; every reference you list must be cited at least once within your paper.
#5 Write a good abstract first. You can amend it later if necessary, but it can help you stay on track with your main point as you write your paper
