You are required to write an essay on the balanced scorecard and its uses.
Apart from the Introduction (5 marks) and the Conclusion (5 marks), you should answer the following questions.
1. What is the Balanced Scorecard? (10 marks)
2. Briefly describe its historical development. (20 marks)
3. Outline the academic research on the usefulness of the Balanced Scorecard? (40 marks)
4. Describe how the use of the Balanced Scorecard could assist a company in its assessment of whether to acquire another company. (20 marks)
