ESSAY #4 (Summary/Reflection Essay)
The fourth critical thinking essay will serve as a summary of learning and assessment of the professional social work perspective. For this essay you should reflect on all course material, class discussions, and personal learning from the semester to cover the topics below.
● What preconceived ideas did you have about the social work profession? Have those perceptions changed or been reinforced this semester? Discuss specific examples. ● Do you plan to continue to pursue social work as a profession, or another helping profession? How did the learning this semester guide your decision? What areas will you need to continue to develop to be a competent social work professional? ● Reflect on the NASW Code of Ethics and discuss what you appreciate about the Code, what you learned from the Code, and what you found surprising. Discuss and give specific examples of how the Code will guide your future professional practice.
This essay should be a minimum of 3 pages and no more than 4 pages of typed text with a cover page included. It must be double-spaced in Times New Roman or Arial 12 point font size with standard margins. Proper citations must be provided for any sources that are paraphrased or quoted.
