Note: All answers are to be written in third person (no I, me, our, us, we you, your, you’re) .
SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS:
1) The questions are short answer (requires at least 3-4 sentences in each answer at least 250 words) and are to be typed in Times font size 12 on a computer in MS Word with 1″ margins on all four sides.
Write your answers in your own words (paraphrase) …. no direct quotes or copying and pasting from any source. Again, all the information for your (paraphrased) answers must come from our textbook. If you need help paraphrasing, go to https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/owlprint/619/. I am also a resource for you.
2) Please proof and revise your writing at least three times before submitting your exams. The answers are to be mini essays (requires at least 3-4 sentences of 250 words), and the quality of your writing is very important. If I can’t understand your writing, or if your sentence structure, spelling, etc. is confusing, you will lose points on your exam’s grade. I suggest you proof writings by speaking them out loud from a print out, not on the computer; the ears hear more grammatical issues than the eyes see!
3) Double space all lines.
4) Please write the Chapter and # at the beginning of each of the four chapters, e.g., Chapter #5. On the next line, type the question # AND the question, word for word, e.g., #1. What is socialization? On the next line, begin to type your answer. (See sample pages below for the organization of each page.)
5) Please, do NOT need start each chapter on a new page. Just keep going ….
6) No citations or a References page is required for exams because ALL INFORMATION IS TO COME ONLY FROM OUR TEXTBOOK and there are to be no direct quotes. Thus, your only resource is to be our textbook.

7) Save your exam on your computer with the following title: Your last name, your first name Soc 16- 33 (or Soc 16-34, depending on what section you are taking) Exam #1 (or 2 or 3 or 4 depending on which exam you are submitting), e.g., Smith Lucy (16-34) Exam #1. Thus, I expect to see that title when I open your exam on my computer. Remember, it is to be written and saved in MS Word with the extension .doc or .docx only. If the title of your exam is not the requested title, you will lose points. Also see the last page of the Syllabus.
8) All Exams are due on www.turnitin.com as an attachment before 11:55 PM on the due date. When the clock strikes, 11:55 PM you will be late.
Again, be sure you save your exams with this extension: .doc or .docx. If you save it in any other format (e.g., PDF), I will not open it, and you will receive 0 points for the exam.
