Research papers vary in their organizations, but all of them should have a clear, easy-to-follow structure. Your subject matter should be clear in your introduction, and you should indicate what you plan to discuss throughout the body of your paper with a thesis statement.

The body of the essay should support your thesis or claim. Your body paragraphs should each include a topic sentence that supports the main idea. The body of your essay should also include in-text citations to credit information obtained from outside sources (even paraphrased material). Make sure you understand how to handle these in-text citations appropriately. Essays without in-text citations will not be accepted.

The conclusion of the essay should reinforce your thesis and sum up your claims. Your reader should be more educated and informed about your topic by the end of your paper.

You should include a Works Cited page that lists at least four CREDIBLE sources (no Wikipedia pages, blogs, personal websites, or dictionaries, etc.)
