They are then to prepare a 5 to 7 page research paper on this topic that contains the following sections: Introduction to the Topic – here the student will introduce the student to the issue and explain why he or she feels that this is the most pressing issue/aspect of Homeland Security. Discussion of the Issue – here the student will discuss the specifics of the particular issue/aspect of interest. Here the student will provide the reader with a firm foundation in all aspects of the issue (legal, procedural, technical, etc.), and prepare the reader for the final section – the conclusion and recommendation section. Conclusion and Recommendation – here the student will conclude their paper by discussing what they believe needs to be done to regulate, eliminate or minimize the impact of their selected issue in the future.
