This assignment utilizes the third of those case studies to study performance management. The main purpose of performance management systems is to maximize employee productivity and thereby improve overall organizational performance. Objectives • Analyze the components that make up a successful performance appraisal process. (4.4) Theory and Context Performance management employs a number of HR functions to accomplish the goal of maximizing employee productivity. One of the most important functions is performance appraisal. This is the part of performance management where work standards are set, an employee’s performance is assessed, and feedback is provided to assist the employee in improving their performance. Without a good performance appraisal system an organization will most likely never reach its full potential. At the end of the scenario, review the questions designated for undergraduate students. a. Use these questions as the basis of your response paper on the topic of performance appraisals and what you would recommend in this case study scenario. 3.
