Racial and Ethnic Marginalization

Marginalization, the social entrepreneurial efforts to address it, and whether or not justice is/was achieved are the focal points of this project. In essence, you are to compare and contrast marginalization, two related social enterprises and justice in the two countries of your choice. Some key questions to guide your research and subsequent analysis are: Who is being marginalized and how is the marginalization demonstrated? Why is the marginalization happening; what are the causes or reasons for it? Who is doing what with respect to social entrepreneurship in these two countries to help reduce this form of marginalization?

Describe these social entrepreneurs, their social entrepreneurial ventures and their operations? Have these social entrepreneurial efforts been successful; that is, has justice been achieved in the realm of the social issues they are attempting to tackle? Why or why not? What other type of social entrepreneurial efforts could be pursued and how? How are the related ideas of freedom, equality and power exhibited in conjunction with the marginalization, related social entrepreneurship and justice? Remember that this is a compare/contrast analysis. You should not merely describe the situation in each of the four countries. Also, while you will need to familiarize yourself with basic information – size, location, etc. – for each country, that information should not be included in the paper.
