Strategic implementation plan.

Strategic implementation plan.

This signature assignment is designed to align with specific program student learning outcome(s) in your program. Program Student Learning Outcomes are broad statements that describe what students should know and be able to do upon completion of their degree. The signature assignments may be graded with an automated rubric that allows the University to collect data that can be aggregated across a location or college/school and used for program improvements.

Follow the instructions based on decision to complete the Strategic Plan or Alternative Capstone Project:

Strategic Plan: Implementation Plan, Strategic Controls, and Contingency Plan Analysis

Write a 1,400-word minimum strategic implementation plan in which you include the following:

  • Create an implementation plan including:
    • Objectives
    • Functional tactics
    • Action items
    • Milestones and deadlines
    • Tasks and task ownership
    • Resource allocation
  • Recommend any organizational change management strategies that may enhance successful implementation.
  • Develop key success factors, budget, and forecasted financials, including a break-even chart.
  • Create a risk management plan including contingency plans for the identified risks.

Format your paper according to APA guidelines.

Use the current company/organization which you have used and discussed in weeks 1 – 4 (attached for reference)

1. Objectives – You may have listed high level strategic goals or objectives in the past papers.  These may be too large, therefore you might consider a “sub-strategy” for this paper.  A sub-strategy is one of a group of sub-strategies that must be completed in order for the large scale strategy to be realized.  Define in detail the sub-strategy – what it is and what the end result should be.  An example would be “remodel the bathroom” and a sub-strategy might be the “plumbing” needed.

2. Functional tactics – these are generally upper level expectations of the sub-strategy – what leadership and management will do to get the strategy planned and implemented.

3. Action items – this area will need detail and may be shown as a chart.  You might want to use the chart as a RAIL – rolling action item list which shows individual tasks, when they are due, and who is responsible to get these done.

4. Milestones and deadlines – I suggest listing out the key milestones that need to be monitored in order for the sub-strategy to be realized.  These will include the milestone description, person or group responsible, and due date.

5. Tasks and task ownership – this is covered in # 3 above

6. Resource allocation – in this section, consider both the labor and material needed to meet the needs of the strategy.  What do you have versus what do you need?

7. Change management strategies – what will be the strategic process used to change from the “current” process to a “new” process – including implementation and evaluation actions for the new process?  Describe the approach and expectations for this section.

8. What are the KPIs – “key process indicators”, what are these measures and how will these be monitored for success?  What is the budget needed for the sub-strategy and change – do you have the funds and if not where will they come from?  What are the key financial forecasts and expectations of the strategy?  How do you know if the funding and budget are on track – break even analysis?

9. Risk management plan – I suggest identifying the key risks associated with getting your sub-strategy implemented.  Define the risk, what is the probability that it will happen, and what might you do about it – mitigation?  Contingency plans are basically how the company falls back on the “current” process if the new strategy fails.

There is more detail that you can add as well – specifically in the implementation section.

References – I suggest at least 3 references be added – focus on the implementation, KPIs, risks, etc.

This is a UOP “signature” assignment.  Please follow the information shown above, provide good detail and data, proof read your paper using APA and citations as needed.
