The Biology of Sex and Gender

The Biology of Sex and Gender

This paper has to be written based on the textbook “Brain and behaviour, an introduction to behavioural neuroscience” by Bob Garret and Gerald Hough. fourth or fifth edition.
It’s going to be a summary on 5 topics mentioned in the chapter 7 “The biology of sex and behaviour”

The first topic is “Sex as a form of motivation”
*Here’s a sample of what I’ve started to write for this section*
Sex is similar to hunger and thirst in the sense that it’s a motivated behaviour. However, an individual certainly wouldn’t be putting themselves in harm if they forgo sex the way an individual would be putting themselves in harm if they fail to eat. Sex insures the survival of the species, not the individual. William masters and Virginia Johnson conducted research which identified the four phases of sexual arousal, which we found to be very similar between sexual motivation and other motivated behaviour like hunger and thirst.”

the second topic is “The biological determination of sex”.
the third topic is “Gender-related behavioural and cognitive differences”.
the fourth topic is “biological origins of gender identity”.
and the fifth topic is “sexual orientation”.

If you are unable to access this textbook, I am able to send you pictures of the pages in the chapter.

The paper must be 2-3 pages single spaced OR 4-5 pages double spaced.
It should be approximately 1500 words.
A short paragraph on your personal perspective or a conclusion on the paper is preferred. however, not necessary.

bibliography should include only the textbook I mentioned earlier, and in text citation is also needed.
