Assignment is the 500-word (or more) Timed Final Paper. It will be similar to the Timed Narration Paper, but this time you will know the topic in advance, but not the type of writing.

There are three possible topics, all three on the general topic of writing, but you won’t know which one to write on until you begin the paper. If you like, you can outline them all in advance so that it’s easier to write next week.
Here are the possible topics:

It might be this topic:
1. Write a paper telling all the steps you followed when you wrote any one of your papers for this class.
Remember from the start of the class that the steps are these: prewriting, writing a first draft, rewriting, editing, and getting feedback. We have been walking through all of these steps for every paper this semester.
If you are assigned this paper, you must tell the specific types of prewriting that you did, and details about all of the steps you followed.
OR it might be this topic:

2. Write a paper describing all of the elements (parts) of a good college paper.
By now you know that the elements of a good college paper include an introduction with a topic sentence (or thesis statement), the body with interesting details, logical order, transitions, and special features like dialogue, specific language, and clear logic; and a conclusion, which makes the paper feel finished.
If you are assigned this paper, you must explain this information in detail.

OR it might be this topic:
3. Write a Cause and Effect paper telling the reasons why you got the grades you did on one of your graded papers for this class, including the grades you usually got for Paragraph/Essay, Sentences, and Grammar, etc.
If you are assigned this paper, you will need to provide the details of the things you did well and the things you did not do well, including the steps, the elements, or both.

Make sure you have 120 minutes straight to work on it (Two hours straight). It is timed–As soon as you begin, you will read your topic, and you will then have two hours to write your paper.
