Valuation of Ford Stock and Bond

 Valuing Financial Market Instruments Each student will be assigned a publicly traded company – you are assigned the Ford Motor Company. Your benchmark for the sake of evaluation of performance is the Automotive Industry compared to Ford. Choose a particular BOND of Ford- The bond must have a remaining time to maturity of 6 or more years to maturity. Analyze your bond, answer the following Questions: – What are the key features of the bond? – What are the call provisions and sinking fund provision of the bond? Do these provisions make the bond more or less risky? – How does one determine the value of the Ford bond? Then compare the performance of the Ford stock with its bond, and also benchmark your bond against a similar Treasury Bond of a similar maturity. Use the Bloomberg or other online resources to obtain the necessary data for each the last five years. Decision support analytics Excel must be employed to analyze and evaluate the above instruments and deliver a written final report evaluating Ford. Reporting and presentation of results will be in accord with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) but also give due consideration to Accounting Standards.
