Description PSY 460 – Experimental Psychology Lab 8– One-Way ANOVA with post hoc test (10 Points) The Purpose of this study was to see if there is any difference between marital status and Mathematical Skill Level. Thirty graduate students were given a survey and asked to indicate their marital status. They were also given a mathematical skill test after they filled out the survey. Step 1: You Will need to assign numbers to each marital status (1 – Single, 2 – Married, 3 – divorced) Step 2: Enter the data Step 3: Analyze the data using a One – Way ANOVA Step 4: Move SkillLevel to Dependent variable and maritalStatus to Fixed factors. Next clock on options. Step 5: Move MaritalStatus to Display Means window and click on the boxes above to get these results in the output window. Then click on the continue button and it will take you back to the previous window. Step 6: Now once you are back to this window click on the “OK” button to run the analysis. You should get this output below. Step 7: The correct way to write the ANOVA in your write up is F(2,29) = 1.01, p = .38 Notice the degrees of freedom (2, 29), the F score (1.01) and the significance (p=.337). Step 8. Post hoc analysis below shows no difference for each group compared. Make sure to have a complete APA paper including the following: Title page Abstract Introduction/lit review (3 empirical articles) with a purpose and hypothesis statement. Full Method section Results section with the statement of whether or not the hypothesis was supported and include the means, standard deviations and the F score statistical statement. Discussion section with the overall outcome, limitations of the study and future recommendations to improve the study. Reference section Table with M, SD, and N.
