Windshield Survey

A windshield survey is a kind of community assessment that provides the nurse knowledge of the community of interest. The characteristics of the community and relevant public health data provide valuable information related to the health and well-being of the population who live within it. A community assessment is the equivalent of a head-to-toe assessment, but instead of assessing an individual you are looking at characteristics that define a community (Chicago).
