In this assignment you are required to construct a development plan for one of your colleagues on the module with the aim of helping them to improve their own capacity as a leader. The development plan should have four parts:

1) ASSESSMENT of the individual’s strengths and weaknesses as a leader. This should include evidence of the reasons for this assessment, and a considered appraisal of what aspects of their current performance they would most like to improve. This part of the assessment should end with a stated FOCUS for the development plan and a reason for that focus.
2) A review of LITERATURE concerning the focus of the development plan with theoretical considerations of how this capacity could be developed from a theoretical point of view.
3) APPLICATION of ideas from the literature to the person you are working with in a PLAN FOR ACTION. This part of the assignment should clearly indicate the way in which theory is being TAYLORED to meet the specific situation the individual finds him or herself in. 
4) A REFLECTIVE ACCOUNT which summarises your own learning from undertaking this activity.
