It is critical that this essay refers to issues, themes and methods discussed in the literature. It should show evidence that appropriate articles have been read and understood.
Choose to answer one from the following questions. It is important that you clearly indicate which question you have answered.
1. Describe two ways technologies have been specifically developed to support collaboration in organisations. Critically discuss the challenges that have been encountered when each has been introduced. What can this tell us about the nature of collaborative work?
2. Technological Determinism has been criticised for presenting a too simplistic view of the relationship between technology and society. Critically consider alternatives to this view and the problems these also face in accounting for change.
3. Drawing on one example of an innovative technology, consider how social scientific findings and methods might contribute to the development of the innovative technologies?
4. Recently a number of commentators have suggested that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will radically transform how management will be accomplished in the future. Considering particular proposals for AI and ML to change management, critically discuss such claims.
