EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS

The three individual tasks which should be submitted together on one document. These tasks are: 1. Critical Reflection 2. Written proposal 3. Internal communication When completing elements of the assessment relating to the case study, you may make reasonable assumptions, but please ensure that you identify these assumptions. Assessment Task 1: Critical Reflection 1,000 words (excluding reference list) Weighting: 50% Conduct a critical reflection of:- a. The process of working in your team b. The process of the role play Your reflection should be an honest review of what happened, the effectiveness of the team, your role in the team and where you could enhance your contribution. The quality of teamwork itself is not being assessed. Instead, you will be assessed on the thoroughness and honesty of your review as well as your intention to develop your capacity to work within a team. You should also reflect on the process of conducting the role play. What part did you play? To what extent did this support the outcome? How content are you with your contribution? When you are taking part in employee conversations as an HR professional – what learning from this experience will you implement? What do you think are the main skills that you need to acquire to be effective in these types of meetings? Your critical reflection should make use of theory such as reflective practice theories to inform your review, e.g. Shon, Agyris, etc. You will also have access to a 360 degree tool during the module which you will be asked to complete for each member of your team. You should make detailed reference to this within your critical reflection. Where you have already had some practical experience in this area within the HR arena, you may wish to incorporate that experience into your reflection. For example, you could discuss how the two situations vary and what you learnt from that or perhaps the impact of a different approach that you used for the role play. The purpose of the critical reflection is to provide a framework for assessing your own levels of capability in performing as a professional HR practitioner in the employee relations arena. Through conducting a reflection on your interaction with others, your contribution and your levels of comfort in dealing with employee issues you will be able to set realistic development goals to develop your career as an HR professional. Task 1 – critical reflection The critical reflection is worth 25% of the assignment If you did not attend the role play, please reflect on the lost opportunity for learning and consider how you will gather rich learning about running conflict and disciplinary investigations. If you were not part of a team, again please reflect on why you made that choice and what it means for your learning. Please ensure that you reference your critical reflection both with models of reflection and teamwork as well as, if appropriate, models of employment relations e.g. you might reflect on the importance of trust following the role play. Assessment Task 2: Proposal 1, 500 words (excluding the bibliography) Weighting: 50% In task 2 you are asked to provide a report which proposes how B.N. Foray can enhance ts employee relations. This should be based on the whole B.N. foray case study. A manager might reasonably ask how your proposals should be carried out. This is what the implementation and risk register are for. The risk register outlines the key risks for each choice, the damage that risk could do and how likely that risk is to happen. On the basis of this they can be described as red (serious and likely) amber and green ( not serious and unlikely). Your proposal should include:
