Instructions

Compose a complete answer to the following essay prompt (there are multiple responses required): Read the assigned essays and write a good philosophical essay that discusses the following points: a) Briefly summarize your understanding of both the Singer and the O’Neill approaches to the problem of famine. b) Singer comes at the problem from the perspective of Utilitarianism and O’Neill from the perspective of Kantian ethics. Using your know ledge of these moral theories, compare and discuss how each moral perspective supports the author’s response to the problem of famine. Be sure to note significant differences AND any points of similarity between the authors’ views. c) Which author provides a more compelling response to famine? Explain why.
