One for each website. Introduction You are a popular news anchor appearing before millions of listens to report on recent geologic events. Writing a newscast is different from the class discussions. For this topic, you will visit a pre-determined geology website, locate an interesting articles, and summarize it to the studio audience. The newscast should tell a story with facts and statements. Avoid articles with a lot of highly technical terms or topics beyond the scope of the course. Be creative, you want to grab the attention of your audience. A. Examine and select a geology-based article or recent event for EACH website. C. Write the title and author of the article in the subject line. D. Summarize the article in your own words and fact-check the article. E. Create a newscast based on your summary, example types include: podcast, TV broadcast, and teleprompter script. Grading Criteria Each newscast should be at least 150 words or a two-minute podcast. List all outside resources used to fact check the article; include one fact-check resource and cite the original article for total of 2 resources per newscast.
