Habituation effect of drug on motor activity
Habituation effect of drug on motor activity
Requires: title, abstract, introduction (title and statement of research question, rationale included,
significance, definitions of main variables), methods and result, discussions and references.
Under introduction: title and statement of research question, brief rationale, significance, definition of
main variables.
State hypothesis. Ensure hypothesis contains (a) IVs (b) DVs (c) Relationship between IVs to DV.
State relative position of all groups tested.
Under method section, participants and ethics. Examples of stimulus materials for nonstandardized
test, suitability if standardized. Procedure outlined. Data analysis, IV and DV (describe levels and measures).
Under result section, ensure descriptive and inferential statistics are effectively presented. Effect sizes,
variability measure are provided. And figure is presented and utilized to explain result. State result as
per SPSS output. After checking normality of data make comments based on SPSS outputs for
normality (use SW or S/K). Run appropriate analysis. Only interpret results under discussion section!
Under discussion, discuss sample size of the study in comparison to estimated a priori sample size
(need to run power analysis using G*Power and attached graph at the end of lab report), need to
also include effect size (eg Cohen’s d) and interpret result in light of effect size, confidence level and
pvalue. Also include sentence addressing ethics, outline major findings, confirm hypothesis, check if
consistency of results with previous research considered, examination of results obtained, limitations
including methodological and statistical considerations including statistical power, implications of
results and future direction considered. Limit suggestions of future direction to only one study.
It is important to demonstrate that you understand how to interpret the findings and apply them in
real life.
