Some elements you might want to include in your essay:

Introduce the concept of HRM and provide an argument for how it contributes to organisational performance. You might want to think about best practice vs. best fit, vertical integration etc.

Introduce the key functions of HRM and how they are integrated into a strategic whole.

·        
Introduce IHRM and how it differs. This might then form the basis of how you organise the rest of your essay (e.g. if you select a comparative approach to IHRM, you may want to contrast employee relations in different countries / regions).

·        
Focus substantial discussion on your two selected strategic functions; provide detailed explanations of relevant practices and how they contribute to organisational performance.

·        
Illustrate your arguments with relevant case studies (think about the case studies that we have covered in class, organisations that you are familiar with, or ideas from other modules).
