Mergers and Acquisition
This assignment draws upon topics covered in Theme 5 of the module. In recent years Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activity has remained high and is common in conglomerate as well as cross-border (international) mergers. In any M&A activity it is imperative that the management of the acquiring firm persuade the shareholders of the target firm that their offer is “the best” and will be successful. Required Identify and critically evaluate the characteristics of a successful M&A. Your answers should include relevant examples which allow you to present and analyse these characteristics to illuminate your answers. In responding to this requirement, you should refer to relevant MPAcc materials as appropriate. You are encouraged to also draw upon other materials, as appropriate, from journal articles and/or business reports and/or news reports.
