Summary of PodcastThe podcast entails the elements of music that help in the creation and production of music: this includes, melody, rhythm, harmony and texture, and form. Melody is composed of the pitch, which is a sound with recognizable frequency. The pitch is supported by intervals, keys, volume, and emphasis on the melody. The second element is the rhythm. It is the movement of sound over time. It is made up of a beat and can have either a single pattern, monometer, or multiple patterns, polymeter. To create music, the rhythm has to flow in a specific harmony and having a texture. Harmony is a group of pitches played together, while the texture is how the music is organized. The texture can either be heterophonic, polyphonic, or homophonic. The form may be a repetition, having words or pitches repeated, contrast, or having variations. The ecology of music considers the style or lace of origin, the genre or type of music, the texts, and the method of transmission snd movement.

Reflection

When listening to music, it sounds like a simple combination of sounds put together. However, from the podcast, I have learned that creating music may take a while as various components have to be put together to ensure the flow of message and a regular pattern. Through the combination of the elements, music has an impact on people. They either love the melody, rhythm, or harmony that the music has created. The ecology of music is many, at times unknown. It is easier to know the genre depending on the words used in the songs. Therefore, form the podcast, it has become simpler to understand the ecology of music, its formation, and composition and identify the features that make it more attractive to a group of people. While listening to birds, it is possible to identify the rhythm and changes in their pitches. They create a flow with variations, hence creating music without material culture.
