The Carnival Triumph Cruise Ship Disaster

Hello everyone, welcome to my presentation.

I begin with a brief outline of the issues discussed relating to risk management in the tourism and events industry. The case I have chosen to focus on is the carnival triumph cruise ship disaster. It involved the Carnival Triumph’s engine catching fire and the ship losing its power, with more than 4200 crew members and passengers aboard. The engine room of the Triumph caught fire prompting a power loss that resulted in drifting.

Focusing on the risk management factor of the disaster, the paper will provide an analysis of the determination of the ethical, legal and sustainability dimensions of risk management incorporated in the given incident and how they can be addressed. I will then offer a legal dimension of risk management showing the importance of legal dimension in risk management. Then, I plan to present an ethical dimension of risk management showing the importance of ethical dimension in risk management. I will finish up the analysis by analyzing the sustainability dimension of risk management. Lastly. a summary of the major points in the discussion and their relations to the incidents and the aspect of risk management will be discussed.

I will take any questions you may have at this point.
