What makes Caterpillar a successful company?
Your assessment for this module is to produce a 2,000 word analysis outlining why a particular engineering, technology or manufacturing organisation is successful in achieving its objectives. A helpful question (and title) might be:
“What Makes xx Successful?”
Your analysis should include a description of the company, and enough data to substantiate why you consider it to be successful. You will need to identify its market(s), segments and products/services. I would expect you to complete a SWOT analysis that is drawn from an assessment of the external environment and a resource audit. You should then choose and justify the most important part of the portfolio to critically assess through an STP lens. You will be building an argument as to why the company is successful in the area you are focussing on.
