1. Both the UN Human Rights Committee, in Faurisson v. France, and the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, in Perincek v. Switzerland, have ruled on whether legislation making denial of genocide a crime can be compatible with freedom of expression. Are the views of these two bodies compatible, or have they taken genuinely different approaches to the issue?
2. Bearing in mind the French declaration concerning article 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, what protection do national, ethnic, racial and religious groups enjoy from international law in this country?
